Surveillance after Complete Response to First-Line Chemotherapy in Patients with Metastatic Nonseminomatous Germ Cell Tumor

Jennifer M. King et al.

Summary: This study reports the long-term outcomes of patients with metastatic germ cell tumors who achieved a complete response (CR) after first-line chemotherapy. The majority of patients had no evidence of disease during the follow-up period, and patients in the good risk category had a higher survival rate.

Summary: In patients with metastatic nonseminomatous germ cell tumor, surveillance is an effective strategy after chemotherapy for those with a postchemotherapy RRM < 1.0 cm in the TSA axis. Referencing TSA rather than TLA or CCA may help avoid unnecessary postchemotherapy RPLNDs.
