High-efficiency carbamazepine degradation using a Ni/Co-LDH as the peroxymonosulfate activator: Performance, mechanism and degradation pathway

Li Zhang et al.

Summary: Ni/Co layered double hydroxide (Ni/Co-LDH) was synthesized successfully and showed great activation performance in carbamazepine (CBZ) degradation by generating efficient HO•/SO4•- radicals. The degradation pathway of CBZ involves processes such as deamidation, hydroxylation, and electron transfer. Some degradation products were identified as highly toxic, emphasizing the importance of monitoring toxicity during pollutant treatment in water.

Green synthesis of stable structure spindle FeCo-LDH through Fe-MOF template for efficient degradation of 2,4-D

Bingyang Liu et al.

Summary: FeCo-LDH derived from MOF showed excellent catalytic activity for PMS activation and 2,4-D degradation. Various ROS were produced in the FeCo-10/ PMS catalytic process. The relative contribution of high-valent iron species in the system was evaluated and found to be absent. The degradation pathway of 2,4-D was calculated. FeCo-10 exhibited structural stability, low metal leaching, and preferable 2,4-D degradation reusability.
