Investigation on the electrical performance of a curved PV roof integrated with CIGS cells for traditional Chinese houses

Xinyi Tian et al.

Summary: Inspired by traditional Chinese architecture, a curved PV roof integrated with copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) cells is designed. This paper builds a radiation distribution model and an electrical model to predict the power output of PV cells with different connections. Results show that cells on the west side of the curved surface perform better than cells on the east side, and parallel connection generates more power than series connection.

China's pathways to peak carbon emissions: New insights from various industrial sectors

Kai Fang et al.

Summary: This study examines the potential peaking pathways of emissions in China's diverse industrial sectors by analyzing the emissions data from the past 23 years. The findings suggest that most sectors are expected to reach their peak emissions before 2040, with Agriculture, Building, Manufacturing, Others, and Transportation sectors likely to peak before 2030. These insights can be valuable for other countries in setting emission reduction targets.

Estimating the spatial distribution of solar photovoltaic power generation potential on different types of rural rooftops using a deep learning network applied to satellite images

Tao Sun et al.

Summary: This article proposes a new method using satellite images to estimate the spatial distribution of rural rooftop photovoltaic (PV) power generation potential. By using a revised deep learning network and a calculation method for PV panel potential, accurate spatial distribution information of rooftop PV power generation potential in rural areas can be obtained. The research was applied in a village and a town in northern China, achieving high accuracy.

Investigation of the effect of Inter-Building Effect on the performance of semi-transparent PV glazing system

Wei Xiong et al.

Summary: This study develops a real-time shadow model of the building complex and an STPVG system power generation model with the shadows of the surrounding buildings. By simulating and analyzing the influence of building shadow on the performance of the STPVG system, it is found that the power performance of the system significantly decreases under the shadows of the surrounding buildings. The lower the building floor and the larger the building spacing, the greater the influence of the surrounding building shadow on the power performance of the STPVG system.
