A note on the interpretation and simulation of reparameterized intercepts in constrained versions of the nominal response model

Carl F. Falk

Summary: This paper briefly discusses the reparameterization of intercepts under constrained variants of the nominal response model, including popular models used in educational and psychological testing. Examples are given on how to easily generate intercepts for Monte Carlo simulation studies, as well as a brief exploration of the limitations of an information matrix test for detecting misspecification.
