Room temperature ppb level detection of chlorine using peripherally alkoxy substituted phthalocyanine/SWCNTs based chemiresistive sensors

Anshul Kumar Sharma et al.

Summary: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have unique properties that make them suitable for gas sensing applications, but their long recovery time and limited sensing properties at different temperatures have been a challenge. A hybrid sensor combining single-walled carbon nanotubes with alkoxy substituted phthalocyanine showed improved Cl2 sensing characteristics at room temperature, with a detection limit of up to 1.33 ppb. Characterization of the hybrid sensor revealed increased surface area compared to SWCNTs-COOH, and the interaction between the sensor and gas analytes was explored through spectroscopic studies.

Selective and self-validating breath-level detection of hydrogen sulfide in humid air by gold nanoparticle-functionalized nanotube arrays

Luis Antonio Panes-Ruiz et al.

Summary: A 64-channel sensor array based on semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes demonstrates selective detection of hydrogen sulfide at breath concentration levels, with a sensitivity of 0.122%/ppb and a LOD of 3 ppb. The sensors show increased stability and higher response levels compared to some commercially available electrochemical sensors, with high selectivity to H2S. Mathematical models of sensors' electrical characteristics and sensing responses are developed to enhance the platform's differentiation capabilities in breath analysis applications.
