Improved dielectric properties of PVDF polymer composites filled with Ag nanomaterial deposited reduced graphene oxide (rGO) hybrid particles

Wattana Tuichai et al.

Summary: In this study, the dielectric constant (ε') of PVDF composites was improved by incorporating low-content Ag-rGO hybrid particles, with homogeneous dispersion achieved through a seed-mediated growing process. The high ε' observed in the composites was attributed to Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars interfacial polarization and the formation of a micro-capacitor sandwich structure between Ag-rGO and PVDF, with the best fit achieved through percolation theory adjusting the volume fraction of Ag-rGO.

Significantly improved high dielectric MWCNTs filled PVDF/PS/HDPE composites via constructing double bi-continuous structure

Lifeng Ma et al.

Summary: Multi-layer composites with vastly different electrical properties show promise for high dielectric applications, but fabrication can be complex and unsuitable for mass production. A novel PVDF/PS/HDPE composite with a tri-continuous structure was designed, featuring a double bi-continuous morphology by controlling the PS concentration. This composite demonstrated improved interfacial charge enrichment and interfacial polarization, resulting in a high-performance dielectric material with high epsilon ' and low tan delta.

Preparation of BT/GNP/PS/PVDF composites with controllable phase structure and dielectric properties

Junwang Liu et al.

Summary: The study shows that optimizing filler distribution in composite systems can significantly improve the dielectric constant and breakdown field strength. The selective composite system has a dielectric constant between 12 and 13, with a breakdown field strength of up to 25.8 kV/mm, over three times higher than that of the pure composite system.

Largely enhanced dielectric properties of TiO2-nanorods/poly(vinylidene fluoride) nanocomposites driven by enhanced interfacial areas

Pornsawan Kum-Onsa et al.

Summary: Nanocomposites of TiO2-NRs and PVDF were prepared, showing significantly enhanced dielectric properties attributed to interfacial polarization and semiconducting properties of TiO2-NRs, with the best agreement found with EMT and Yamada models for rationalizing dielectric behavior.

Summary: Despite the assistance of CNTs, the improvement in the strength of high-performance polymer fibers is still limited, mainly due to the constraints between the mechanical properties, aspect ratio, and interfacial characteristics of CNTs and polymer fibers.
