Maxillofacial space infection experience and risk factors: a retrospective study of 222 cases

Yunzhu Qian et al.

Summary: The study revealed that multiple-space infection, respiratory difficulty, and systemic diseases are risk factors leading to exacerbation and prolonged hospital stay in maxillofacial space infection patients. Community outpatient treatment was found to reduce length of stay compared to self-medication before admission. It is advised to timely access dental outpatient management and control diabetes and hypertension for improved outcomes.
