Identification of key gene networks controlling anthocyanin biosynthesis in peach flower

Irshad Ahmad Khan et al.

Summary: Through weightage gene coexpression network analysis, a network of 15 hub genes related to the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway in peach flowers was identified, with MYB108 playing a crucial role in activating PpDFR. Additionally, the insertion of MYB binding site in the core promoter region of PpDFR in red flowers and its positive interaction with PpMYB108 further supported the role of PpMYB108 as a transcriptional activator for anthocyanin biosynthesis.

Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of bHLH transcription factor family in response to cold stress in sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.)

Tianjiao Shen et al.

Summary: The study identified 66 bHLH genes in the sweet cherry genome, classified into 17 subfamilies. Most members of the PavbHLH family were found to be involved in various processes in response to cold stress. Approximately 20 PavbHLH genes showed rapid induction of expression during low-temperature treatments, followed by a decrease in expression levels.

Current Understanding of bHLH Transcription Factors in Plant Abiotic Stress Tolerance

Jianrong Guo et al.

Summary: bHLH proteins are a widespread transcription factor class in eukaryotes, regulating plant developmental and metabolic processes by binding to specific positions on their promoters. They play vital roles in plant responses to abiotic stresses, and future studies and applications of bHLH genes in plant breeding are promising.

The MIR-Domain of PbbHLH2 Is Involved in Regulation of the Anthocyanin Biosynthetic Pathway in Red Zaosu (Pyrus Bretschneideri Rehd.) Pear Fruit

Xieyu Li et al.

Summary: This study identified the function of PbbHLH2 containing the MIR-domain in regulating anthocyanin biosynthesis in Zaosu pear peel. The MIR-domain was shown to interact with R2R3-MYB TFs and activate the expression of late biosynthetic genes, ultimately increasing the anthocyanin content. These findings suggest a key role of the MIR domain in the interaction between MIR-domain bHLH and R2R3-MYB TFs.
