Liexiao Li et al.

Summary: In this study, high-quality carnation flower-like Bi2O2CO3 hierarchical architectures were synthesized via a hydrothermal route, and their photocatalytic activity for the removal of Cr(VI) was investigated. The effects of various factors on the photoreduction efficiency and mechanism were systematically studied. Additionally, the determination of Cr(VI) concentration using UV-vis absorption measurements with 1,5-diphenylcarbazide as the chromogenic agent was examined.

Enhancement of photocatalytic activity using ternary Au@Pt-TiO2/nano-GO heterojunction for environmental remediation and clean energy production

Nesrine Ben Saber et al.

Summary: In this study, a ternary multifunctional nanocomposite photocatalyst based on Au@Pt-TiO2 core-shell nanoparticles anchored onto nano-graphene oxide (nano-GO) through a solvothermal process was designed. The photocatalytic activities against MB dye and diuron pesticide were remarkably enhanced, showing potential as a powerful photocatalyst. The enhanced activity could be attributed to the heterojunction structure, enhanced charge separation, and light absorption of nano-GO and Au, Pt NPs.

TiO2@Cu2O n-n Type Heterostructures for Photochemistry

Anita Trenczek-Zajac et al.

Summary: A TiO2@Cu2O semiconductor heterostructure was obtained by electrochemical deposition of Cu2O onto TiO2 nanotubes, showing better photochemical response and properties than TiO2. SEM and Raman spectroscopy were used to determine the morphology and structural properties of the heterojunction. The n-n type heterostructure of TiO2@Cu2O was found to prevent the process of photocorrosion of copper(I) oxide in a TiO2-based heterostructure, and a new energy diagram for the system was proposed based on the analysis of Mott-Schottky plots and photoelectrochemical measurements.
