Direct trapping and rapid conversing of polysulfides via a multifunctional Nb2O5-CNT catalytic layer for high performance lithium-sulfur batteries

Yajing Liu et al.

Summary: A multifunctional Nb2O5-carbon nanotube (CNT) catalytic interface was designed and fabricated onto the separator to trap and catalyze polysulfides for advanced Li-S batteries. The sulfur cathode with the Nb2O5-CNT interface showed high initial discharge capacity and low capacity attenuation rate, while also suppressing self discharge and lithium dendrite formation effectively. This work provides insights into improving Li-S battery performance by designing a multifunctional catalytic interface to suppress shuttle effects and accelerate redox conversion.

MXene/FeCo films with distinct and tunable electromagnetic wave absorption by morphology control and magnetic anisotropy

Xiao Li et al.

Summary: MXene is used as a microwave absorber to defense electromagnetic pollution, and the excessive conductivity of single-layer MXene is reduced by preparing a flexible MXene/FeCo film via vacuum-assisted filtration, with the intercalation of magnetic nanoparticles destroying the continuous layered structure. The rough surface of nanoflower-like FeCo alloy enhances interfacial polarization and magnetic loss capabilities, leading to better microwave absorption performance.
