Polysaccharide-based hydrogels crosslink density equation: A rheological and LF-NMR study of polymer-polymer interactions

Summary: A simple relation between pendant groups of polymers in hydrogels is introduced to determine the crosslink density of complex hydrogel systems. Furthermore, the rheological properties and their potential connection to design complex hydrogel systems with desired properties have been thoroughly investigated. The article also presents a new mathematical model for determining the crosslink density of crosslinked hydrogels and develops a combined use of rheology and low field nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy for the characterization of hydrogel networks.

Summary: In this study, a hydrogel-type shielding material incorporating MXene and poly(acrylic acid) was successfully fabricated through a biomineralization-inspired assembly route. The composite hydrogel exhibits excellent stretchability, recyclability, high shielding performance, and fast self-healing capability, making it suitable for electromagnetic interference shielding in terahertz technologies. The sensitive deformation responses of the hydrogel also allow for its use as an on-skin sensor. This work provides an alternative strategy for designing next-generation EMI shielding materials and a highly efficient method for fabricating MXene composites on a macroscopic scale.

The supercapacitor shows extraordinary capacitive performance, structural reliability, and electrochemical stability even under severe damages, with low internal resistance and eminent stress dissipation. This study paves the way for developing ultrahigh-performance and freezing-tolerant supercapacitors for wearable power sources against severe mechanical damage.
