Hypothesis testing and interval estimation for quantiles of two normal populations with a common mean

Habiba Khatun et al.

Summary: This study investigates interval estimation and hypothesis testing for the quantile in the case of independent random samples from two normal populations. The study derives asymptotic confidence intervals for the quantile using the Fisher information matrix and numerically obtains confidence intervals using parametric bootstrap methods and the generalized p-value method. Several hypothesis tests are proposed, including tests based on the Computational Approach Test, the likelihood ratio test, an estimator of the quantile, and tests based on the generalized p-value method. The study also evaluates the sizes of these tests through Monte-Carlo simulation and compares the confidence intervals using measures such as average length, coverage probability, and probability coverage density.

Statistical Analysis for Generalized Progressive Hybrid Censored Data from Lindley Distribution under Step-Stress Partially Accelerated Life Test Model

Aakriti Pandey et al.

Summary: This paper presents an estimation procedure for the step-stress partially accelerated life test model under a generalized progressive hybrid censoring scheme. The uncertainties are assumed to follow Lindley distribution. Both point and interval estimation of the parameters as well as the acceleration factor using maximum likelihood approach are discussed. A simulation study is conducted to evaluate the performance of the estimators based on mean squared error under the considered censoring scheme. An analysis of a real data set is also provided for illustration purposes.
