Vibration and nonlinear dynamic analysis of sandwich FG-CNTRC plate with porous core layer

Ngo Dinh Dat et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the influence of CNTs, porosity, mechanical and thermal loading on the vibration and dynamic response of the sandwich functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) composite plate. The numerical illustration is shown to examine the influence of various parameters on the dynamic behaviors of the plate.

Effect of porosity on active damping of geometrically nonlinear vibrations of a functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic plate

L. Sh Esayas et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the effect of porosity on active damping of geometrically nonlinear vibrations of functionally graded plates. The study analyzes the impact of factors such as porosity distribution, material gradation, and boundary conditions on the damping performance. The results demonstrate that porosity significantly influences the nonlinear behavior and damping performance of the graded plates.

Nonlinear damped transient response of sandwich auxetic plates with porous magneto-electro-elastic facesheets

Vinyas Mahesh et al.

Summary: In this article, the effectiveness of the active controlled layer damping (ACLD) technique on attenuating the coupled nonlinear response of sandwich plates with auxetic core and porous functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic (PFGMEE) facings is numerically studied. The study reveals that controlling different parameters can improve the nonlinear coupled response of sandwich plates. It provides important insights into the application of auxetic cores in smart structures.

Nonlinear vibrations and damping of fractional viscoelastic rectangular plates

Marco Amabili et al.

Summary: This study explores the increase in damping with vibration amplitude and the increase in stiffness with vibration frequency in nonlinear vibrations of rectangular plates. A fractional linear solid model is applied to capture these phenomena and the frequency-dependent nonlinear damping. The results are compared with experimental data, showing good agreement in various aspects of the vibration response.

Nonlinear vibration analysis of fiber metal laminated plates with multiple viscoelastic layers

Hui Li et al.

Summary: An analytical model accounting for both material and geometric nonlinearities is proposed to predict the vibration behaviors of multiple viscoelastic-layered fiber metal laminated plates. Experimental validation shows that increasing base excitation amplitude leads to complex nonlinear vibration characteristics changes, influencing the natural frequencies and damping parameters.

On the size-dependent nonlinear thermo-electro-mechanical free vibration analysis of functionally graded flexoelectric nano-plate

Amin Ghobadi et al.

Summary: In this study, a continuous-based electromechanical model was developed to investigate the size-dependent nonlinear free vibration of functionally graded flexoelectric nano-plate. The governing equations obtained were solved using Galerkin and perturbation methods, showing the significant importance of size-dependency of material properties in the presence of flexoelectric effect at the nano-scale.

Nonlinear forced vibration of simply supported functionally graded porous nanocomposite thin plates reinforced with graphene platelets

Mei Wen Teng et al.

Summary: The nonlinear forced vibration of graphene platelet reinforced metal foam rectangular plates was studied, showing hardening nonlinearity in primary and superharmonic resonances and larger vibration amplitude in subharmonic resonance. By controlling the distribution of pores or graphene platelets, the vibration characteristics of the plates can be significantly altered.
