Projector matrix product operators, anyons and higher relative commutants of subfactors

Yasuyuki Kawahigashi

Summary: This article introduces a bi-unitary connection in subfactor theory of Jones, which produces a 4-tensor appearing in recent work on two-dimensional topological order and anyons by Bultinck-Marien-Williamson-Sahinoglu-Haegeman-Verstraete. The authors prove that the range of a special projection is naturally identified with the higher relative commutant of the subfactor arising from the bi-unitary connection, providing further connection between two-dimensional topological order and subfactor theory.

Topological aspects of the critical three-state Potts model

Robijn Vanhove et al.

Summary: We explore the topological defects of the critical three-state Potts spin system on different surfaces and analyze their characteristics using the lattice setting and tensor network descriptions. By utilizing matrix product operators and intertwiners, we gain a comprehensive understanding of the system's symmetries and boundary conditions.

Critical Lattice Model for a Haagerup Conformal Field Theory

Robijn Vanhove et al.

Summary: In this study, we use the formalism of strange correlators to construct a critical classical lattice model in two dimensions. We provide compelling numerical evidence to support our findings. Furthermore, we argue that our model can be obtained through an orbifold procedure, which provides a counterexample to a conjecture.

Numerical Evidence for a Haagerup Conformal Field Theory

Tzu-Chen Huang et al.

Summary: We numerically studied an anyon chain based on the Haagerup fusion category and found evidence that it leads to a conformal field theory in the long-distance limit, with a central charge of ???2. This is the first example of a conformal field theory with truly exotic generalized symmetries.

Scaling Limits of Lattice Quantum Fields by Wavelets

Vincenzo Morinelli et al.

Summary: A rigorous renormalization group scheme for lattice quantum field theories using operator algebras is presented, with the renormalization group considered as an inductive system of scaling maps between lattice field algebras. Scaling maps for scalar lattice fields are constructed using Daubechies' wavelets, showing the existence of the inductive limit of free lattice ground states extending to the familiar massive continuum free field with continuum action of spacetime translations. Lattice fields are identified with continuum fields smeared with Daubechies' scaling functions, and comparisons are made with other renormalization schemes such as the momentum shell method or block-spin transformations.
