Hybrid nanofluid flow towards an elastic surface with tantalum and nickel nanoparticles, under the influence of an induced magnetic field

Lijun Zhang et al.

Summary: The physical behavior of a nanofluid composed of kerosene and tantalum and nickel nanoparticles propagating through a porous, elastic surface was studied. Results show that the flow propagates faster for higher values of Darcy number and Tantalum nanoparticles, with the magnetic field opposing the fluid motion. The presence of Tantalum and Nickel nanoparticles also leads to a decrease in the thermal boundary layer.

Recent advances on the fundamental physical phenomena behind stability, dynamic motion, thermophysical properties, heat transport, applications, and challenges of nanofluids

Zafar Said et al.

Summary: The rapid development of nanotechnology in the past decade has created numerous opportunities for researchers and engineers. Nanofluids, created by suspending nanoparticles in conventional heat transfer carriers, offer significant advantages in thermal properties. This study addresses the challenge of nanofluid stability and analyzes various forces and physical phenomena affecting the stability. Stable and highly conductive nanofluids can be produced through one-step or two-step production methods, but both methods face the problem of nanoparticle agglomeration.

Three-Tier Hierarchical Structures for Extreme Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Performance

Youngsup Song et al.

Summary: In this work, a three-tier hierarchical structure is designed to overcome the trade-off between HTC and CHF. By defining nucleation sites with microcavities and incorporating nanostructures, the bubble coalescence is minimized and evaporation is promoted, leading to significant enhancement in both HTC and CHF compared to a smooth surface.

Summary: The present investigation assessed the transient characteristics of nucleate pool boiling heat transfer in Al2O3-water nanofluids. The results revealed up to 90% heat transfer deterioration and 50% to 300% increase in nanoparticle deposition with increasing heat flux, nanofluid concentrations, and boiling durations. Microscopic images showed the evolution of nucleation sites and deposition patterns over varying trends.

Surface qualitative analysis and ANN modelling for pool boiling heat transfer using Al2O3-water based nanofluids

Ashutosh Pare et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the surface-associated qualitative analysis of the nucleate pool boiling heat transfer characteristics of alumina-water based nanofluids. Experimental results were used to develop an optimal artificial neural network (ANN) design with various training algorithms and hidden layers. The nanofluids were prepared using alumina nanoparticles and distilled water, with varying concentrations and were characterized using various techniques such as FESEM, EDAX, zeta potential stability test, and thermophysical analysis. The study found that nanofluids demonstrated up to a 70% enhancement in pool boiling heat transfer compared to distilled water, and the ANN model using the Levenberg Marquardt algorithm exhibited the most optimized structure.
