Sol-gel assembled MnCo2O4/rGO photocatalyst for enhanced production of aniline from photoreduction of nitrobenzene under visible light

Nada Y. Tashkandi et al.

Summary: Aniline is an important chemical used in various industries, and photocatalysis has shown great potential for its green production. In this study, MnCo2O4/rGO nanocomposite was successfully synthesized using a simple sol-gel method, and it exhibited improved absorption in the visible light region, leading to enhanced photocatalytic effectiveness. The optimized MnCo2O4/rGO nanocomposite demonstrated the ability to completely reduce nitrobenzene to aniline under visible light illumination.

Computational prediction of Mo2@g-C6N6 monolayer as an efficient electrocatalyst for N2 reduction

Jiajun Wang et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the catalytic activities of single and double transition metal atoms anchored on g-C6N6 monolayers for NRR. Mo-2@g-C6N6 is identified as the most promising candidate for NRR due to its stability, activity, and selectivity. Further exploration of the reaction mechanism reveals that the Mo dimer anchored on g-C6N6 can efficiently reduce the inert nitrogen molecule to ammonia.

Role of Pd in the Electrochemical Hydrogenation of Nitrobenzene Using CuPd Electrodes

David Carvajal et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the electrochemical reduction and hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to aniline using Cu/Pd electrodes. The study found that the deposition of Pd on the surface of the Cu electrode can decrease the overpotential for nitrobenzene reduction and improve the rate and selectivity of aniline production. Impedance spectroscopy analysis indicates that Pd enhances the production of H* radicals, which are necessary for the nitrobenzene reduction process.

Asymmetric Activation of the Nitro Group over a Ag/Graphene Heterointerface to Boost Highly Selective Electrocatalytic Reduction of Nitrobenzene

Wenqian Li et al.

Summary: By fabricating a Ag nanoparticles/laser-induced-graphene (LIG) heterointerface, the electrocatalytic reduction of nitrobenzene is effectively improved with reduced overpotential and enhanced selectivity. Furthermore, the combination of electrochemical reduction of nitrobenzene and electrochemical oxidative polymerization of aniline provides a novel method for removing nitrobenzene. These strategies highlight the significance of heterointerfaces in efficient electrocatalysts.
