Sustainable conjunctive water management model for alleviating water shortage

Rongjie Hao et al.

Summary: The study developed a sustainable conjunctive water management model (SCWM) to provide a sustainable solution for future multiple-source water saving management measures. Through a case study of Shaanxi province, it revealed the optimal possibility of adapting to water shortage by increasing industrial water efficiency and reducing agricultural final demand.

Ultraslippery/hydrophilic patterned surfaces for efficient fog harvest

Biao Qi et al.

Summary: This study reported the fabrication of hydrophilic patterned SLIPS on copper substrates that can achieve efficient droplet transport and fog harvest. The hydrophilic patterned SLIPS with superhydrophilic stripe array showed remarkable anisotropy in contact angle hysteresis in the parallel and perpendicular directions, which can be used for rapid and precise droplet transport.

Design of a Venation-like Patterned Surface with Hybrid Wettability for Highly Efficient Fog Harvesting

Jie Guo et al.

Summary: Inspired by the Namib Desert beetle and leaf venation, a wettability-integrated system with hybrid coatings and venation-like patterns was designed and fabricated. The surface can create a 3D topography with a water layer and efficiently drain through the venation-like patterns, significantly enhancing fog harvesting ability. The synergistic mechanisms of fog harvesting enhancement by a wettability-integrated surface were further studied and discussed.

Highly stable and high-performance MgHPO4 surface-modified Ni-rich cathode materials for advanced lithium ion batteries

Do-Young Hwang et al.

Summary: In this paper, a novel strategy to improve the cathode material of NCM for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is proposed. The Mg-doped and Li3PO4-coated NCM cathode material shows advanced discharge capacity, rate capability, and cycling performance. The dual-modification of MgHPO4 on the NCM particle effectively prevents the phase transition, providing potential for commercialization acceleration.

Durable superhydrophobic surface with hierarchical microstructures for efficient water collection

Yue Zhang et al.

Summary: A superhydrophobic surface with good robustness and efficient water collecting performance was successfully fabricated through structuring multilevel microstructures. The surface exhibited great water repellency, chemical stability, and maintained water proofing property even after cyclical abrasion. The water harvesting efficiency was higher than those of the previously reported surfaces, making it a potentially crucial solution for water collection in fog/mist environments.
