Osseoperception following dental implant treatment: A systematic review

Dandan Song et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the osseoperception phenomenon following dental implant placement and explore potential factors that may improve perception capacity. The study found that implants had a lower tactile function compared to natural teeth, with higher threshold levels. Neurophysiological and histological evidence supported the existence of osseoperception, and immediate implant placement and loading showed positive effects on the restoration of the sensory feedback pathway.

Three-dimensional analysis of the accuracy of conventional and completely digital interocclusal registration methods

Johannes Matthias Ries et al.

Summary: Compared with the frequent investigations into the accuracy of digital intraoral scans, studies analyzing digital determinations of jaw relationships based on intraoral scans are scarce. This in vitro study presents an optical 3-dimensional method for analyzing deviations in static occlusion and compares the accuracy of conventional and digital interocclusal registrations.

The Accuracy of Transferring Casts in Maximal Intercuspal Position to a Virtual Articulator

Mingzhu He et al.

Summary: The accuracy of transferring casts in maximal intercuspal position to a virtual articulator using transfer plates in the laboratory scanner improved significantly after occlusal optimization. The transfer models can meet the clinical needs for occlusal design and prosthesis analysis.

Tactile Sensibility Thresholds in Implant Prosthesis, Complete Dentures and Natural Dentition: Review about Their Value in Literature

Diego Gonzalez-Gil et al.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review on tactile sensibility threshold in periodontium and prosthetic rehabilitations. The results showed that implant prostheses have similar and lower thresholds compared to natural dentition, indicating increased tactile sensibility. The differences in active tactile sensibility thresholds were smaller than those in passive tactile sensibility thresholds, which were influenced by receptors from periodontal or periimplant tissues.

Construction of virtual intercuspal occlusion: Considering tooth displacement

Linlin Li et al.

Summary: This study aimed to establish new methods for constructing virtual intercuspal occlusion and evaluate their accuracy. By recording intraoral occlusal contacts of posterior teeth of 15 subjects and determining virtual dental occlusions using different methods, it was found that the ability of STR and OCR methods to construct virtual intercuspal occlusion was better than the traditional BBR method.

Occlusal Assessment of Zirconia Crowns Designed with the Digital Articulator and Traditional Methods

Rui Zhang et al.

Summary: The study evaluated and compared the occlusal fit of zirconia crowns made using a digital articulator method and traditional method. Results showed no significant differences in occlusal adjustment times, contacts, forces, and VAS scores between the two methods, indicating both methods can achieve acceptable occlusal fit for single crown restorations.
