18F-FDG PET/CT in Initial Diagnosis and Treatment Response Evaluation of Anti-NMDAr and Anti-GAD Dual Antibody Autoimmune Encephalitis

Summary: A 34-year-old female patient with anti-NMDAr and anti-GAD antibodies presented with atypical symptoms of encephalitis, including abnormal hand posturing and tonic-clonic seizures, along with psychotic episodes and injuries from falls. The F-18-FDG PET scan revealed increased FDG uptake in various regions of the brain, which was not typical of any known pattern of encephalitis.

Paraneoplastic Limbic Encephalitis Secondary to SCLC on 18F-FDG PET/CT

Summary: This case report describes a 67-year-old male patient with rapidly progressing neurological symptoms and significant weight loss, who was initially suspected to have paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis, Alzheimer's disease, and lymphoma based on imaging findings. However, subsequent lymph node biopsy revealed small cell lung carcinoma, leading to rapid clinical deterioration and the patient's death.
