Nuclear modification factor of light neutral-meson spectra up to high transverse momentum in p-Pb collisions at √SNN=8.16 TeV

S. Acharya et al.

Summary: This study measures the production cross sections of neutral pion (π(0)) and eta meson up to high transverse momenta (p(T)) in p-Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 8.16 TeV. The data provide strong constraints for nuclear parton distribution and fragmentation functions.

EPPS21: a global QCD analysis of nuclear PDFs

Kari J. Eskola et al.

Summary: We present an updated global analysis of collinearly factorized nuclear parton distribution functions (PDFs) at next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD, including more data from proton-lead collisions and Jefferson Lab measurements. The analysis provides better-constrained gluon distributions and confirms the presence of shadowing and antishadowing effects in large nuclei. The uncertainties of nuclear PDFs due to the errors in the baseline proton PDFs are explored within the Hessian framework.

Jet quenching and medium response in high-energy heavy-ion collisions: a review

Shanshan Cao et al.

Summary: This study reviews recent progress in using jet quenching as a hard probe to study the properties of the quark-gluon plasma in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. Special emphasis is given to the effects of jet-induced medium response on experimental observables and their implications for extracting transport properties of the QGP.

Bjorken variable and scale dependence of quark transport coefficient in semi-inclusive lepton production of hadron off nuclei

Tian-Xing Bai et al.

Summary: The nuclear modification of hadron production in deep inelastic lepton-nucleus scattering can provide insights into the parton propagation mechanism in cold nuclear matter. Experimental results suggest a relationship between the quark transport coefficient and kinematic variables, which can be used to study transverse momentum broadening and jet quenching phenomena.

Bjorken variable and scale dependence of quark transport coefficient in Drell-Yan process for proton incident on nucleus

Tian-Xing Bai et al.

Summary: In this study, a phenomenological analysis of the nuclear Drell-Yan differential cross section ratio as a function of Feynman variable was performed using nuclear parton distributions and quenching weight. Our predictions are consistent with experimental measurements, indicating the significant impact of nuclear geometry on the quark transport coefficient in cold nuclear matter. Further research and more accurate experimental data are needed to confirm the dependence of the quark transport coefficient on target-quark momentum fraction.

Measurement of the EMC effect in light and heavy nuclei

J. Arrington et al.

Summary: Inclusive electron scattering from nuclear targets was conducted at Hall C in the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator facility to extract the nuclear dependence of the inelastic cross section (sigma A). Results for various nuclear targets at an incident electron beam energy of 5.77 GeV were presented, allowing for a more detailed examination of the A dependence of the EMC effect and improving the precision of existing measurements.

Impact of inclusive hadron production data on nuclear gluon PDFs

P. Duwentaester et al.

Summary: A precise knowledge of nuclear parton distribution functions is crucial for interpreting hard process data in pA and AA collisions. Current fixed target data mainly constrain light quark distributions, therefore it is important to include more collider data, especially for gluon distribution at small x. By extending the nCTEQ15 analysis to include SIH data, the impact on PDFs is studied in comparison to existing sets, representing a step towards the next generation of PDFs.

Determining the jet transport coefficient (q)over-cap from inclusive hadron suppression measurements using Bayesian parameter estimation

S. Cao et al.

Summary: This study presents a new determination of the jet transport coefficient of the quark-gluon plasma using the JETSCAPE framework and Bayesian inference. The functional dependence of (q) over cap on jet energy or virtuality and medium temperature is based on in-medium scattering, with components reflecting the different regimes of applicability of MATTER and LBT models. The posterior model predictions show reasonable agreement with experimental data from RHIC and LHC, with moderate tension in limited regions of phase space.

Multisystem Bayesian constraints on the transport coefficients of QCD matter

D. Everett et al.

Summary: By combining different modules, we studied the properties of strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma. Our research emphasizes the importance of validation process and the constraints and sensitivity of experimental data on the viscosity of quark-gluon plasma. We also explored the impact of different model parameters on observational results.
