All-optical reconstruction of three-band transition dipole moments by the crystal harmonic spectrum from a two-color laser pulse

Yue Qiao et al.

Summary: In this paper, a new method is proposed to reconstruct transition dipole moments (TDMs) between multiple energy bands using high-order harmonic generation (HHG). The observed harmonic spectrum can be used to map TDMs between different bands, which is of great significance for studying the instantaneous properties of solid materials in strong laser fields.

Influence of multiphoton resonance excitation on the above-threshold ionization of a hydrogen atom

Haiying Yuan et al.

Summary: The photoelectron emission of a hydrogen atom under ultraviolet laser irradiation was studied using numerical methods. A high-intensity subpeak structure was observed in the photoelectron emission spectrum, which shifted to higher energies with increasing laser intensity. It was found that this subpeak structure arises from interference between ionized electrons from the ground state and ionized electrons from the 2p state after resonant transition. Analyzing the change in the photoelectron emission spectrum provides a deeper understanding of the energy change of dressed bound states under intense laser irradiation.

High-order harmonic generation of 1-nonene under linearly polarized laser pulses

Shu-Shan Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigates the high-order harmonic generation of long-chain molecules 1-nonene (C9H18) and 1,3-Butadiene (C4H6) in a few-cycle laser field using time-dependent density-functional theory. The efficiency and cutoff frequency of C9H18 harmonics are found to be higher than those of BF molecules irradiated by the same laser pulse. The harmonics generated near the cutoff energy are caused by electron recombination between atoms in the parent molecule. Additionally, the harmonics generated by C4H6 can be used to produce high-intensity isolated attosecond pulses.

High-order harmonic generation of benzene molecules irradiated by circularly polarized laser pulses

Shushan Zhou et al.

Summary: High-order harmonic generation in benzene molecules is investigated by using time-dependent density functional theory to simulate the interaction with circularly polarized laser pulses. The efficiency and cut-off energy of the harmonics from benzene molecules are found to increase gradually as the wavelength of the driving laser decreases. Through analyzing the time-dependent evolution of electronic wave packets, it is concluded that the harmonic generation is attributed to the recombination of ionized electrons and their parent ions. By optimizing the driving laser pulse, isolated circularly polarized attosecond pulses can be produced.

Generation of circularly polarized extreme-ultraviolet harmonics from solids

Tran Trung Luu et al.

Summary: Circularly polarized sources of radiation are crucial for photoelectron circular dichroism and magnetic circular dichroism experiments. Generating circularly polarized radiation in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV) domain remains a challenge, but recent developments in high harmonic generation have enabled the generation of circularly polarized extreme ultraviolet light through the interaction of intense circularly polarized drivers.
