An all-optical phase detector by amplitude modulation of the local field in a Rydberg atom-based mixer

Xiu-Bin Liu et al.

Summary: A Rydberg atom-based mixer was developed to measure the phase of a radio frequency (RF) field by converting it to an all-optical phase detector through amplitude modulation (AM) of the LO RF field. The study shows a linear relationship between the amplitude of the beat signal and the phase of the SIG RF field within a certain range.

Deep learning enhanced Rydberg multifrequency microwave recognition

Zong-Kai Liu et al.

Summary: Combining Rydberg atoms with a deep learning model allows for the sensitivity of Rydberg atoms to be utilized while reducing the impact of noise, without the need to solve the master equation. This technology is expected to benefit Rydberg-based MW field sensing and communication.

Highly Sensitive Measurement of a Megahertz rf Electric Field with a Rydberg-Atom Sensor

Bang Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, we achieve highly sensitive measurement of a weak MHz electric field using Rydberg atoms in a thermal atomic system. Our method enables the measurement of electric field strength as low as 37.3 mu V/cm, with a sensitivity of -65 dBm/Hz and a linear dynamic range over 65 dB. Additionally, we successfully measure and demodulate an amplitude-modulated signal with a fidelity over 98%. This research has significant implications for advancing atomic electric field-sensing technology.

Enhanced metrology at the critical point of a many-body Rydberg atomic system

Dong-Sheng Ding et al.

Summary: This research demonstrates the enhanced sensitivity of many-body critical systems to small variations in external parameters in a non-equilibrium Rydberg atomic gas. By quantifying the Fisher information, it is shown that many-body effects lead to a three orders of magnitude increase in sensitivity compared to single-particle systems.
