A micro-wave strategy for synthesizing room temperature phosphorescent materials

Ru Liang et al.

Summary: Researchers reported a microwave approach to prepare room temperature phosphorescent carbon dots (CDs) in a short time. The formation of carbon and boron bonds through microwave irradiation resulted in long afterglow properties. The materials showed significant phosphorescence under UV light and had a long phosphorescence lifetime. The glass state of the material contributed to the stabilization of its characteristics.

Tailored Fabrication of Carbon Dot Composites with Full-Color Ultralong Room-Temperature Phosphorescence for Multidimensional Encryption

Yuanfei Ding et al.

Summary: A facile method was developed to fabricate boron-doped carbon dot composites with full-color long lifetime RTP, which can be tailored by adjusting the mass ratios of citric acid and boric acid precursors and the pyrolysis temperature. The phosphorescence can shift from blue to red by increasing the citric acid feeding or higher pyrolysis temperature.

Cross-Linked Polyphosphazene Nanospheres Boosting Long-LivedOrganic Room-Temperature Phosphorescence

Yongfeng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports that cross-linked polyphosphazene nanospheres can effectively promote long-lived organic room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP). Through molecular engineering, introducing multiple functional groups greatly enhances the spin-orbit coupling constant, thereby improving the phosphorescence performance. Encapsulating the polyphosphazene nanospheres with a poly(vinyl alcohol) matrix further improves the phosphorescence lifetime, efficiency, afterglow duration time, and absolute luminance, and can be used for detecting volatile organic compounds.

Full-Color Long-Lived Room Temperature Phosphorescence in Aqueous Environment

Yan Zheng et al.

Summary: This study presents a feasible strategy for achieving high stability and full-color long-lived room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) of carbon dots (CDs)-based composite materials in aqueous environment by constructing a rigid hydrogen bonds' network. The obtained m,p-CDs@CA composite materials exhibit excellent stability, dispersion, and long-lived RTP properties, making them desirable for biomarker detection.

Cluster-luminescent polysiloxane nanomaterials: adjustable full-color ultralong room temperature phosphorescence and a highly sensitive response to silver ions

Shuaiqi Wang et al.

Summary: Non-conjugated polysiloxane nanomaterials with high luminescence performance and tunable cluster luminescence have been synthesized through a low temperature solution method. Doping different types and contents of nonaromatic guest small molecules can effectively regulate the structure and composition of the clusters, resulting in full-color unconventional cluster luminescence. Additionally, these materials exhibit high sensitivity to silver ions and can be used for detecting Ag+ in aqueous solutions.

An unusual Pb8 clusters based coordination polymer with room-temperature orange phosphorescence

Xiao-Shuo Wu et al.

Summary: A new two-dimensional phosphorescence lead metal cluster-based coordination polymer has been successfully synthesized, exhibiting almost pure room-temperature orange phosphorescence with high quantum yields and long lifetime. This was achieved by the restriction of molecular vibrations/rotations of the organic luminogens and the heavy-atom effect of Pb(II).
