Recent advances in MOF-derived carbon-based nanomaterials for environmental applications in adsorption and catalytic degradation

Da Liu et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted attention due to their rich structures and ingredients, but most MOFs have poor stability and are prone to self-decompose in water. Recent studies have shown that porous carbon materials derived from MOFs exhibit excellent stability in water, representing great potential and high performance as adsorbents and catalysts in the environmental field.

Understanding the structure-activity relationships of different double atom catalysts from density functional calculations: three general rules for efficient CO oxidation

Qianyu Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the catalytic performance of several double-atom catalysts (DACs) for CO oxidation was investigated using density functional theory calculations. It was found that the DACs remarkably enhanced the CO oxidation performance, with Zn and Ag-DACs being the most superior catalysts. Three general rules affecting the energy barrier of CO oxidation were proposed.

Prospect of marine natural gas hydrate stimulation theory and technology system

Wu Nengyou et al.

Summary: The key to realizing the commercial production of natural gas hydrate (NGH) is to significantly increase the NGH productivity, whether by enlarging the drainage area, improving dissociation efficiency, or enhancing seepage conditions. The use of complex-structure wells, multiple-well patterns, novel production methods, and reservoir stimulation technologies can greatly increase NGH productivity. However, there are technical bottlenecks in fundamental research on NGH production that need to be addressed, such as sample preparation, simulated reservoir monitoring, and mechanical coupling technologies. The combined application of complex-structure wells, well-pattern production models, novel production methods, and reservoir stimulation technologies are key to increasing NGH productivity in a significant scale.
