A Quasi-Metal-Organic Framework Based on Cobalt for Improved Catalytic Conversion of Aquatic Pollutant 4-Nitrophenol

Summary: By subjecting cobalt-based metal-organic framework TMU-10 to thermal treatment, purposely generated defects in the form of quasi-MOFs were employed as catalysts for the room-temperature reduction of 4-nitrophenol. Summary: In this study, two-dimensional nitrogen-containing covalent organic frameworks were used as host substrates to create stable and highly dispersed metal nanoparticle catalysts. The prepared AgNPs@NCOF exhibited superior catalytic activity towards the reduction of 4-NPh, high stability, and ease of reusability without significant loss of catalytic activity. The unique structure of NCOF provided favorable nucleation sites for Ag NPs, controlled the growth of Ag NPs, and tightly bound Ag NPs through interface interaction.
