Deformations of kink tails

Summary: The asymptotic properties of kinks in connection with the deformation procedure are studied. It is shown that the asymptotics of kinks can change or remain unchanged upon deformation, depending on the properties of the deforming function. Both explicit and implicit kinks are considered, and the deformation procedure is applied to the important case of implicit kinks. Furthermore, it is proved that the stability potential of any kink with a power-law tail decreases as the inverse square of the coordinate. The physical consequences of the deformation, such as the change of kink mass and the asymptotic behavior of the kink-antikink force, are discussed.

Exotic final states in the φ8 multi-kink collisions

Summary: We study the final states in the scattering of kinks and antikinks of the phi(8) field-theoretic model, observing various processes such as the emergence of static and moving oscillons, change in the kink's topological sector, scattering of an oscillon by a kink, and production of kink-antikink pairs in oscillon-oscillon collisions. In asymmetric kinks collisions, we found resonance phenomena known as escape windows.

Summary: The study focuses on collisions of coherent structures in higher-order field-theoretic models, highlighting the long-range interacting algebraic tails of solitary waves as the main distinguishing feature. The models, when suitably initialized, still exhibit multi-bounce resonance windows, with a self-similar structure and scaling relations derived for time between consecutive collisions and differences in kinetic energy. The extensive tracing of these scalings throughout two-bounce collision windows hints at the potential for an analytical theory in this direction.

Interaction between kinks and antikinks with double long-range tails

Summary: In this work, a class of phi(4n) models with long-range tails on both sides is explored, focusing on the cases with n = 2 and n = 3. The study reveals that for models with n > 1, the kink-antikink annihilation behavior differs from the phi(4) model and kinks with one long-range tail, showing an ultrarelativistic critical velocity.
