Multisite Cation Regulation of Broadband Cyan-Emitting (Ba1-xSrx)(9)Lu2Si6O24/Eu2+ Phosphors for Full-Spectrum wLEDs

Min Cao et al.

Summary: Developing broadband cyan-emitting phosphors is crucial for achieving high-quality full-spectrum phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes. Multisite cation regulation is an effective method to achieve broadband emission in phosphors. The substitution of Sr in the Ba9Lu2Si6O24 lattice affects the location of Eu2+ activator ions, leading to changes in luminescence properties and thermal stability. The Sr-substituted (Ba0.8Sr0.2)(9)Lu2Si6O24/Eu2+ sample exhibits a broadband emission spectrum, making it an excellent candidate for broadband cyan-emitting phosphors in high-quality full-spectrum wLEDs.

Doubly Stabilized Perovskite Nanocrystal Luminescence Downconverters

Qi Xue et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the synthesis of highly stable halide perovskite nanocrystals with a quantum yield of up to 95% using a ligand-assisted copolymer nanoreactor-based approach. The organic ligands not only enhance the uptake of precursors, but also passivate the nanocrystals, forming a double protection system that shields the nanocrystals from degradation induced by water, heat, and UV-light. The perovskite nanocrystals can be integrated into optoelectronic devices while maintaining their excellent optical properties.

Highly efficient luminescence and enhanced stability of nanocomposites by encapsulating perovskite quantum dots in defect-related luminescent silica nanospheres

Jianru Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, defect-related luminescent mesoporous silica nanospheres were used for the first time as a protective matrix to enhance the stability of metal-halide perovskite quantum dots (PQDs). The PQDs were encapsulated into non-luminescent or luminescent silica matrix to form nanocomposites. The incorporation of PQDs and the silica matrix was confirmed through various characterization techniques. The as-synthesized silica matrix, especially the luminescent one, significantly improved the stability of PQDs against temperature, storage time, and water. The formation mechanism and stability improvement mechanism were also discussed. This study provides a facile and general approach to enhance the stability of all-inorganic PQDs, which may have important implications for practical applications.

Composition and Antithermal Quenching of Noninteger Stoichiometric Eu2+-Doped Na-β-Alumina with Cyan Emission for Near-UV WLEDs

Rou Shi et al.

Summary: Phosphors with high quantum efficiency and thermal stability are crucial in improving the performance of pc-WLEDs. In this study, a series of near-UV excitable cyan-emitting Eu2+-activated phosphors were proposed, showing good quantum efficiency and thermal stability under excitation at 365 nm, suitable for pc-WLEDs. The unique combination of rigid structure and deep trap level in these phosphors may offer an effective route for developing new phosphors with high efficiency and stability.
