Development of Single-Stage TiNbMoMnFe High-Entropy Alloy Coating on 304L Stainless Steel Using HVOF Thermal Spray

Summary: This study explores the development of a single-stage process for a TiNbMoMnFe high-entropy alloy (HEA) coating on a 304L stainless steel substrate using high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) thermal spray technique. The 15-hour milled powder-coated substrate exhibits higher corrosion resistance and features a chemically stable BCC phase. Furthermore, the microhardness, surface roughness, and hydrophobicity of the coated surface improve with an increased milling rate.
