Optical properties of composites based on polyethylene and monoclinic Y2O3:Eu3+ nanoparticles

Anton Kostyukov et al.

Summary: The study investigated the photoluminescence properties of polyethylene composites containing different contents of m-Y2O3:Eu3+ nanoparticles, with the finding that Eu3+ ions in monoclinic Y2O3 lattice are responsible for the high red emission of the composites. The results show that improved red color and high luminescence quantum yield make PECs potential promising materials for luminescent applications.

Synthesis, structure and photoluminescent properties of Eu:Gd2O3 nanophosphor synthesized by cw CO2 laser vaporization

Anton Kostyukov et al.

Summary: Europium doped Gd2O3 sphere-like nanoparticles were synthesized using cw CO2 laser vaporization technique, showing monoclinic crystal structure and unique luminescence properties. The nanoparticles exhibited ultra-narrow transitions of Eu3+ and changes in quantum yield and chromaticity coordinates after annealing, indicating potential applications in optoelectronic devices.

Synthesis, structure and optical properties of the laser synthesized Al2O3 nanopowders depending on the crystallite size and vaporization atmosphere

Anton Kostyukov et al.

Summary: Al2O3 nanoparticles with sizes ranging from 2 to 21 nm were synthesized by vaporization of alpha-Al2O3 in different gases and pressures using a CO2 laser. The properties of the nanopowders were affected by synthesis conditions, with smaller particles exhibiting faceted shapes and larger particles being closer to spherical. The nanoparticles exhibited photoluminescence at room temperature and 80 K due to trace impurities and defects.

Europium-Doped Y2O3-Coated Diatomite Nanomaterials: Hydrothermal Synthesis, Characterization, Optical Study with Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance

Younes Hanifehpour et al.

Summary: Eu-doped Y2O3 coated diatomite nanostructures were synthesized by a hydrothermal method with variable Eu3+ contents, and characterized by various techniques. The substitution of Eu3+ ions into Y2O3 lattice caused a redshift in absorbance and a decrease in bandgap, while increasing pore volume and BET specific surface area of the coated compounds. The sonophotocatalytic activities of the synthesized specimens for dye degradation were explored with different specifications such as ultrasonic power, catalyst amount, and dye concentration.
