Iron deposition-induced ferroptosis in alveolar type II cells promotes the development of pulmonary fibrosis

Haipeng Cheng et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that iron-induced ferroptosis plays a role in the development of pulmonary fibrosis, and DFO can prevent this process. Additionally, genes associated with intracellular iron metabolism in animal tissues and lung epithelial cells respond abnormally to BLM stimulation.

A Marine Terpenoid, Heteronemin, Induces Both the Apoptosis and Ferroptosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells and Involves the ROS and MAPK Pathways

Wen-Tsan Chang et al.

Summary: Heteronemin, a marine natural product, has shown inhibitory effects on hepatocellular carcinoma cells by inducing apoptosis through modulation of ROS, MAPK signaling pathways, and other mechanisms. These findings suggest that with structural modification, heteronemin could potentially serve as a potent therapeutic agent against HCC.

Salidroside regulates imbalance of Th17/Treg and promotes ischemic tolerance by targeting STAT-3 in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury

Lele Yin et al.

Summary: The study showed that salidroside can significantly alleviate neurological deficits and infarct size in rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury by targeting STAT-3 to reverse the imbalance of Th17 and Treg cells. Sal also inhibits the expression of inflammatory factors in rat brain tissue, reversing apoptotic brain cell death. The results suggest that Sal has a significant protective effect on rats with middle cerebral artery occlusion.

Interleukin-17 induces pyroptosis in osteoblasts through the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway in vitro

Lihong Lei et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that high concentration IL-17 may induce pyroptosis of osteoblasts, leading to impaired proliferation and function, as well as the release of IL1 beta and RANKL, contributing to bone metabolism disruption. The NLRP3 inflammasome pathway was found to be involved in the pyroptosis of osteoblasts.
