Selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3 over V2O5-WO3 supported by titanium isopropoxide (TTIP)-treated TiO2

Geumyeon Lee et al.

Summary: This study aims to produce more efficient catalysts for NOx removal by treating the TiO2 support with titanium isopropoxide (TTIP) to increase the number of catalytically active sites and facilitate the dispersal of active materials. The catalyst prepared at a TTIP loading of 5 wt% showed optimal performance due to increased thermal stability caused by high extent of W dispersion and the formation of V(4+) by the reaction of V5+ with surface Ti3+.

New insights into the influence mechanism of H2O and SO2 on Pt-W/Ti catalysts for CO oxidation

Tieyao Xu et al.

Summary: A series of TiO2 catalysts loaded with 0.1 wt% Pt and n% WO3 were prepared and tested for CO oxidation activity and stability. Among them, 0.1Pt-5W/Ti-A showed the best performance in the presence of H2O and SO2. H2O greatly improved the catalytic oxidation efficiency, while WO3 doping enhanced the sulfur tolerance of the catalyst.

In situ manipulation of the active Au-TiO2 interface with atomic precision during CO oxidation

Wentao Yuan et al.

Summary: The interface between metal catalyst and support is critical in heterogeneous catalysis. The study found that the atomic structure of the Au-TiO2 interface depends on the epitaxial rotation of gold nanoparticles on a TiO2 surface during CO oxidation. Manipulation of the active Au-TiO2 interface was achieved in situ by changing gas and temperature, suggesting real-time design of catalytic interface in operating conditions may be possible.

Catalytic oxidation of CO on noble metal-based catalysts

Chenglin Feng et al.

Summary: This article reviews recent research on the application of noble metal catalysts in the catalytic oxidation of CO, summarizing the effects of catalyst support, dopant, and physicochemical properties on the catalytic activity for CO oxidation. It emphatically discusses the influence of water vapor and sulfur dioxide on the catalytic activity in CO oxidation and presents several reaction mechanisms of CO catalytic oxidation on noble metal catalysts. Finally, the challenges of removing CO by catalytic oxidation in practical industrial flue gas are proposed.
