Summary: In this paper, yolk-shell structured magnetic multicomponent nanocomposites (MCNCs) were produced and their outstanding electromagnetic wave absorption performances (EMWAPs) were demonstrated. The as-prepared materials exhibited excellent absorption capabilities, broad absorption bandwidth, and thin matching thicknesses due to the unique structures and the synergistic effect between dielectric and magnetic loss. Furthermore, the materials maintained their specific structure even after thermal and hydrothermal processes, and MCNCs with different MoS2 contents could be synthesized by controlling the hydrothermal temperature.

Hygroscopic holey graphene aerogel fibers enable highly efficient moisture capture, heat allocation and microwave absorption

Summary: In this study, hygroscopic holey graphene aerogel fibers (LiCl@HGAFs) with integrated functionalities of highly efficient moisture capture, heat allocation, and microwave absorption were reported. The fibers achieved a water sorption capacity over 4.15 g g(-1), and could be regenerated through both photo-thermal and electro-thermal approaches. Additionally, LiCl@HGAFs exhibited efficient heat transfer and broad microwave absorption performance.

A sustainable and low-cost route to prepare magnetic particle-embedded ultra-thin carbon nanosheets with broadband microwave absorption from biowastes

Summary: This study developed a novel porous graphene-like heterostructure through carbonization of pomelo peel and prussian blue analogues. The magnetic particles derived from prussian blue and its analogue were uniformly distributed in the N-doped carbon nanosheets, resulting in enhanced magnetic loss and improved interfacial polarization. The optimized sample exhibited high reflection loss and broad effective bandwidth, attributed to the unique structure of magnetic particle-embedded carbon nanosheets which optimized impedance matching and enhanced electromagnetic wave attenuation. The environmentally friendly method presented in this study offers potential for low-cost and high-performance microwave absorbers from biowastes.
