The predicted effect and cost-effectiveness of tailoring colonoscopic surveillance according to mismatch repair gene in patients with Lynch syndrome

Summary: This study evaluated the health and economic impact of MMR gene-based colonoscopic surveillance for Lynch syndrome-related colorectal cancer. The most cost-effective strategy was 3-yearly surveillance from age 25 to 70 years, with variations for different MMR gene variants. This strategy effectively reduced CRC deaths and minimized unnecessary colonoscopies.
