Obesity during chemotherapy is linked to higher relapse risk and worse survival rate in acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients, extending from the first to the final days of treatment. New interventions targeting the multiple underlying mechanisms are urgently needed for this high-risk group.
Obesity during chemotherapy is associated with increased relapse and worse survival from acute lymphoblastic leukemia-a finding now extended from the first to the final days of therapy. Patients with obesity constitute a group at higher risk for poorer outcomes who urgently require new interventions targeting the multiple underlying biologic and systematic mechanisms.
