Effect of Elective Internal Mammary Node Irradiation on Disease-Free Survival in Women With Node-Positive Breast Cancer A Randomized Phase 3 Clinical Trial

Yong Bae Kim et al.

Summary: The study found that adding internal mammary node irradiation to regional nodal irradiation did not significantly improve disease-free survival in patients with node-positive breast cancer. However, patients with medial or centrally located tumors may benefit from using internal mammary node irradiation.

Practical Model to Optimize the Strategy of Adjuvant Postmastectomy Radiotherapy in T1-2N1 Breast Cancer With Modern Systemic Therapy

Fei-Fei Xu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the clinical benefit of adjuvant radiotherapy after mastectomy in early-stage breast cancer patients. The results showed that high-risk patients had improved survival rates with adjuvant radiotherapy, while low-risk patients did not show significant survival benefits.

Mapping of PET/CT-based regional nodes distribution of recurrent/advanced breast cancer and comparison with current delineation atlas

Maochen Zhang et al.

Summary: The study aimed to localize the distribution of regional nodes in recurrent/advanced breast cancer patients and validate the coverage of clinical target volumes (CTVs) with current guidelines. The results showed that the current guidelines effectively covered most regional nodes, but missed some important regions such as SC-L and IMN. Recurrent ALNs were mainly located cranially and ventrally to the AV. The study contributes to the understanding of the differences in regional node delineation between current guidelines, particularly in the SC and IMN regions.

Association of 21-gene recurrence score and locoregional recurrence in early breast cancer patients

Yufei Zeng et al.

Summary: The 21-gene recurrence score (RS) assay is significantly associated with the risk of locoregional recurrence (LRR) in estrogen receptor (ER)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative early breast cancer patients. RS remains predictive of the risk of LRR among patients with different nodal statuses and patients receiving mastectomy.

Prognostic value of the 21-gene recurrence score for regional recurrence in patients with estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer

Minji Koh et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the prognostic value of the 21-gene recurrence score (RS) for regional recurrence (RR) in patients with estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer. Results showed that high RS was an independent risk factor for RR, and patients with both high RS and clinical high-risk features had a significantly higher RR rate compared with other groups.

The beneficial role of Asian-based RecurIndex test in the prognostic prediction in Chinese male breast cancer patients

Shuo Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that RecurIndex testing can effectively predict the distant recurrence-free survival, progression-free survival, and overall survival of male breast cancer patients, helping to identify low-risk recurrence patients.

Established and Validated Novel Nomogram for Predicting Prognosis of Post-Mastectomy pN0-1 Breast Cancer without Adjuvant Radiotherapy

Wei-Xiang Qi et al.

Summary: The study established a nomogram to predict the prognosis of breast cancer patients who underwent mastectomy without adjuvant radiotherapy, identifying significant predictors for breast cancer-specific survival and distant metastasis. The nomograms showed good accuracy in predicting 5-year outcomes across different datasets, providing a useful tool for identifying high-risk patients who may benefit from additional adjuvant therapy.

Is it beneficial for patients with pT1-2N1M0 breast cancer to receive postmastectomy radiotherapy? An analysis based on RecurIndex assay

Lina Zhang et al.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 213 pT1-2N1M0 breast cancer patients and found that high-risk patients, especially those not receiving PMRT, had a significantly increased risk of recurrence and metastasis, leading to worse survival rates compared to low-risk patients. PMRT did not show benefits for low-risk patients, but demonstrated survival benefits for high-risk patients in terms of local-regional recurrence-free interval, distance recurrence-free interval, and overall survival rates.

PAM-50 predicts local recurrence after breast cancer surgery in postmenopausal patients with ER+/HER2-disease: results from 1204 patients in the randomized ABCSG-8 trial

F. Fitzal et al.

Summary: The PAM-50 gene assay showed prognostic value for local recurrence risk in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. Patients with a low risk score had significantly lower incidence of local recurrence compared to those in the high-risk group. The assay was not predictive of radiotherapy benefit in this cohort.
