Pd nanoparticles were deposited successfully on a porous metal-organic framework NH2-MIL-125, and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, N-2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and field emission transmission electron microscopy. The as-synthesized NH2-MIL-125-supported palladium nanopartides exhibited excellent heterogeneous catalytic performance towards Suzuki cross coupling between the aryl chlorides and arylboronic acids. The catalyst could be reused at least four times under the optimized conditions with only a minor decrease in catalytic activity. The Sheldon test confirmed the heterogeneity of the catalyst.
