An Energy-Efficient Wearable Functional Near-infrared Spectroscopy System Employing Dual-level Adaptive Sampling Technique

Cheng Chen et al.

Summary: Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is a powerful medical imaging tool that can be used in brain science, psychology, and brain-computer interfaces. This paper proposes a spatial adaptive sampling (SAS) method to increase energy efficiency and reduce the number of channels in the fNIRS system, while maintaining brain imaging quality and accuracy of brain activity classification.
