Mass spectrometry-based identification of new anti-Ly and known antisynthetase autoantibodies

Jean-Baptiste Vulsteke et al.

Summary: New and known antisynthetase autoantibodies (ASAs) were discovered and detected through protein immunoprecipitation combined with gel-free liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (IP-MS). The dominant cognate ARS autoantigen of the newly discovered anti-Ly ASA specificity was identified. Unbiased and targeted IP-MS are promising methods for discovery and detection of autoantibodies.

The SARS-CoV-2 as an instrumental trigger of autoimmunity

Arad Dotan et al.

Summary: This article emphasizes the association between COVID-19 and the development of multiple types of autoantibodies and autoimmune diseases in patients. It highlights the potential molecular resemblance between SARS-CoV-2 and host self-components, leading to hyper-stimulation of the immune system. Recognizing autoimmune manifestations of COVID-19 is crucial for managing the ongoing pandemic and its long-term consequences.

Drug Repositioning Based on the Reversal of Gene Expression Signatures Identifies TOP2A as a Therapeutic Target for Rectal Cancer

Robson Francisco Carvalho et al.

Summary: Rectal cancer is a significant global health issue, with varying responses to neoadjuvant therapy. Drug repositioning, particularly with approved topoisomerase II inhibitors, shows promise in treating rectal cancer. Genetic analysis and drug screenings have identified potential targeted therapies based on topoisomerase II inhibitor efficacy, offering personalized treatment options for rectal cancer patients.

RCC1 Expression as a Prognostic Marker in Colorectal Liver Oligometastases

Yuxiang Deng et al.

Summary: Our study demonstrated that RCC1 expression in the nucleus is associated with the survival of CLO patients, suggesting a potential role of RCC1 in CLO development. High levels of RCC1 expression were identified as an independent prognostic marker for unfavorable recurrence-free survival and overall survival in patients with liver oligometastases. Gene expression profiling indicated that RCC1 is involved in pathways related to Myc targets, E2F targets, and DNA repair.

TRIP13 promotes the proliferation and invasion of lung cancer cells via the Wnt signaling pathway and epithelial-mesenchymal transition

Zhi-Han Li et al.

Summary: TRIP13 is highly expressed in lung cancer tissues, correlating with poor patient prognosis. Overexpression of TRIP13 enhances the levels of active beta-catenin and target proteins of the Wnt signaling pathway. TRIP13 can co-localize and bind with LRP6, promoting the upregulation of N-cadherin, Snail, and vimentin, and the downregulation of E-cadherin.
