Monitoring Inner Regions in the RY Tau Jet

Taichi Uyama et al.

Summary: This study presents multiepoch observations of the RY Tau jet and compares it with other stars' jets. The results show that the RY Tau jet has shorter ejection intervals and multiple knot-like features compared to other stars. The variations in the jet ejection may be related to short-term changes in the mass accretion rate.

RW Aur A: SpeX Spectral Evidence for Differentiated Planetesimal Formation, Migration, and Destruction in an ∼3 Myr Old Excited CTTS System

C. M. Lisse et al.

Summary: We present the SpeX VISNIR spectral monitoring results of the highly variable RW Aur A CTTS from 2007 to 2020. Our findings provide direct evidence for a highly excited, IR-bright, asymmetric, and time-variable system. The analysis reveals five different components in the system, and the temporal evolution of RW Aur A's spectral signatures is consistent with the formation of differentiated Vesta-sized planetesimals in an asymmetric accretion disk and their inward migration for destructive accretion. In contrast, the nearby coeval binary companion RW Aur B exhibits stable spectral and thermal characteristics.

Launching the asymmetric bipolar jet of DO Tau

J. Erkal et al.

Summary: The study of the bipolar jets from the Classical T Tauri star DO Tau shows that the jets become collimated quickly after launch, requiring the presence of magnetic fields. There are velocity asymmetries between the two lobes of the jet, with sustained asymmetry over a 20-year period. The observations support an origin of the jets from the inner regions of the disc.

Modulated accretion in the T Tauri star RY Tau - a stable MHD propeller or a planet at 0.2 au?

P. P. Petrov et al.

Summary: Planets are believed to form during early stellar evolution with mass accretion ongoing. RY Tau, a few million years old T Tauri star, shows variations in Hα and Na I D absorptions over 22 days with 'flip-flop' oscillations, possibly caused by magnetohydrodynamics processes or a massive planet modulating disc processes.Confirmation of a putative planet's presence can be done through radial velocity measurements with an expected amplitude of ≥90 ms(-1) for a planet mass of ≥2 M-J.

Probing Jets from Young Embedded Sources: Clues from HST Near-IR [Fe ii] Images

Summary: This study presents near-infrared [Fe ii] images of four Class 0/I jets observed with the Hubble Space Telescope, revealing the characteristics of the jets including flow rate, velocity, width, and extinction, as well as the presence and measurements of the counterjet. The study also measures the collimations of the jets and shows the valuable reference for future research.
