Homologous Accelerated Electron Beams, a Quasiperiodic Fast-propagating Wave, and a Coronal Mass Ejection Observed in One Fan-spine Jet

Yadan Duan et al.

Summary: Using imaging and radio observations, this study investigated the origin of a solar jet on July 14, 2012. The jet occurred in a small-scale fan-spine magnetic system and was associated with several phenomena, including accelerated electron beams and a fast-propagating wave train. The observed phenomena could be explained by the fan-spine magnetic system.

Genesis and Coronal-jet-generating Eruption of a Solar Minifilament Captured by IRIS Slit-raster Spectra

Navdeep K. Panesar et al.

Summary: We present the first Mg ii slit-raster spectra from IRIS that capture the genesis and eruption of a solar minifilament and the generation of a coronal jet. The Mg ii spectra reveal the blueshifted upflow of the erupting plasma at the jet spire and the simultaneous redshifted downflow at the compact jet bright point. Analysis of the spectra, together with SDO/AIA EUV images and SDO/HMI magnetograms, shows that the minifilament forms above a flux-cancelation neutral line and the jet bright point begins to brighten during the eruption. We speculate that magnetic flux cancelation plays a role in the formation and eruption of the minifilament-carrying twisted flux rope.

Capturing transient plasma flows and jets in the solar corona

L. P. Chitta et al.

Summary: In this study, magnetic reconnection-induced plasma heating phenomena were investigated through high-cadence extreme-UV observations, revealing the onset signatures of reconnection and the evolution of plasma jets in the solar atmosphere. The morphological change from localized sources to jet activity can occur rapidly, with intermittent jets produced on timescales of about 20 seconds. The transient nature of coronal bursts and plasma flows or jets along with their dynamics could provide a benchmark for magnetic reconnection models.
