Summary: This study describes a case of subfertility and other anomalies in a Bernese Mountain Dog kennel, which were associated with the presence of Mycoplasma spumans and Mycoplasma maculosum. Successful pregnancies were achieved and fertility problems were reversed after treatment with antibiotics.

Temporal Trend of Conventional Sperm Parameters in a Sicilian Population in the Decade 2011-2020

Summary: The study observed a slight decrease in total sperm count and percentage of spermatozoa with normal morphology, while a significant increase in progressive sperm motility was found in men from Eastern Sicily between 2011 and 2020. The total sperm count was significantly lower and a trend of increasing progressive sperm motility was noticed in the quinquennium 2016-2020 compared to 2011-2015. The city of residence did not have a significant influence on sperm parameters.

Microbiome Profile in Patients with Adult Balanoposthitis: Relation-ship with Redundant Prepuce, Genital Mucosa Physical Barrier Status and Inflammation

Summary: The microbial composition of patients with balanoposthitis and healthy controls is similar, while it differs in patients with redundant foreskin. Patients with balanoposthitis have reduced mucosal hydration and increased pH levels. Staphylococcus warneri and Prevotella bivia are the two most abundant species associated with balanoposthitis and are positively correlated with disease severity.
