Urine CA125 and HE4 for the Triage of Symptomatic Women with Suspected Endometrial Cancer

Summary: This study evaluated the performance of urine CA125 and HE4 levels for the detection of endometrial cancer in symptomatic women. The results showed that both proteins were significantly elevated in the urine of women with cancer compared to those without cancer. Urine CA125 performed better than HE4, and combining it with transvaginal ultrasound-measured endometrial thickness improved the detection of endometrial cancer. This study provides initial evidence for the use of these proteins in urine for endometrial cancer detection, but confirmation in a larger sample is needed.

Summary: This study investigated HE4 and CA125 as biomarkers for predicting and monitoring recurrence of type II EC, and found that the combination of both markers could better predict recurrence. Higher levels of HE4 were associated with worse survival rates, and preoperative high HE4 levels could assess the risk factors of type II EC.
