Effect of thyroid hormone-disrupting chemicals on swim bladder inflation and thyroid hormone-related gene expression in Japanese medaka and zebrafish

Yoshifumi Horie et al.

Summary: This study compared the effects of thyroid hormone-disrupting chemicals (PFBA and TDCPP) and thyroid hormone (T3) on swim bladder inflation and gene expression in Japanese medaka and zebrafish. The results showed that these chemicals inhibited swim bladder inflation in both fish species, while T3 upregulated gene expression. The study also suggested that swim bladder inflation at certain time points could be a potential indicator of thyroid hormone-disturbing activity.

Development toxicity and cardiotoxicity in zebrafish from exposure to iprodione

You Wei et al.

Summary: Exposure to iprodione in zebrafish embryos results in yolk edema, increased mortality, and shortened body length. It also induces pericardial edema, decreases heart rate, and causes the failure of cardiac cyclization. Additionally, iprodione increases the accumulation of ROS and alters the activity of antioxidant enzymes in zebrafish embryos.
