Flexible 2D nanocellulose-based SERS substrate for pesticide residue detection

Jingjing Wu et al.

Summary: Flexible and high-sensitivity two-dimensional SERS substrates based on self-assembled gold nanoflowers and silver-coated gold nanocubes were successfully developed on nanocrystalline cellulose film. The substrate could sensitively detect pesticide residues on apple surface and showed a linear relationship with pesticide concentration in the range of 10-100 mu g/L.

Ultrafine palladium nanoparticles supported on poly (4-vinylpyridine)-grafted carbon nanotubes as heterogeneous catalysts for cross-coupling reaction between organoindium halide and alkyl iodide

Chunyan Zhao et al.

Summary: This study presents an effective way to fabricate a stable and well-dispersed heterogeneous nanocatalyst by immobilizing small Pd NPs uniformly on the surface of carbon nanotubes, demonstrating excellent catalytic activity for the cross-coupling of organoindium halide with alkyl iodide. It is the first report of utilizing CNT-PdNP nanohybrid catalyst for this specific reaction, indicating potential for diverse efficient catalytic applications using CNT-supported metallic NPs.

Infrared spectroscopy combined with random forest to determine tylosin residues in powdered milk

Alexandre Gomes Marques de Freitas et al.

Summary: A method using FTIR was developed to detect tylosin residues in powdered milk, with chemometric analysis and the Boruta algorithm used to predict concentrations. The random forest method showed high accuracy in predicting low concentrations, with the model generated having a high correlation and determination coefficient for tylosin residues in milk. The proposed methodology proved to be efficient for investigating antibiotic residues in powdered milk.

Confirming the SERS enhancement at large mapping area using self-assembly of silver nanocube at liquid-liquid cyclohexane/water interface

Sain Bux Jamali et al.

Summary: Silver nanocubes (AgNCs) monolayer is constructed at large areas using liquid-liquid interface. The self-assembly preparation of nanoparticles is simple and cost-effective, resulting in uniform monolayers due to electrostatic interactions. The combination of cyclohexane/water interface may offer new opportunities for generating high-quality self-assembled AgNCs.
