Sustainable hydrogen production by CdO/exfoliated g-C3N4 via photoreforming of formaldehyde containing wastewater

Thurga Devi Munusamy et al.

Summary: In this study, exfoliated g-C3N4 nanosheets doped with CdO were successfully synthesized as a photocatalyst for hydrogen production. The CdO/exfoliated g-C3N4 showed a higher hydrogen evolution rate for the photoreforming of aqueous formaldehyde compared to CdO, bulk gCN, and exfoliated g-C3N4. The enhanced hydrogen production rate was attributed to the higher number of active sites and shorter charge transfer path in the CdO/exfoliated g-C3N4 nanocomposite.
