Electrospun Co3O4 nanoparticles and its methanol detection property

Summary: PVA/Co3O4 beads-free nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning method using PVA and CoCl2.6H(2)O as precursor solution. The synthesized Co3O4 nanoparticles showed crystalline structure and were arranged in one-dimension-like structure after calcination, which exhibited good sensing characteristics towards methanol for pulmonary disease detection.

Gas-sensing selectivity of n-ZnO/p-Co3O4 sensors for homogeneous reducing gas

Summary: This study prepared a series of n-ZnO/p-xCo(3)O(4) NPs and found that the Zn:Co molar ratio influenced the gas-sensing selectivity. The results indicated that n-ZnO/p-0.61Co(3)O(4) NPs, formed with a p-n heterojunction, hold promise in addressing the issue of poor selectivity in MOS-based gas sensors.

The research provides a new method for the design of 2D ultrathin nanomeshes and valuable guidance for optimizing gas sensing properties through heterostructure design.

Fabrication of cubic Co3O4-hexagonal ZnO disk/rGO as a two-phase benzaldehyde sensor via a sequential nucleation strategy

Summary: The synthesized Co3O4-ZnO/rGO ternary composite displayed superior sensing abilities towards benzaldehyde in both gas and liquid phases, with enhanced response and faster response/recovery compared to individual and binary ZnO-based systems. This was attributed to the oriented growth and hexagonal morphology of ZnO, the p-n effects of Co3O4-ZnO on rGO sheets, and the excellent characteristics of rGO sheets.

Construction, Application and Verification of a Novel Formaldehyde Gas Sensor System Based on Ni-Doped SnO2 Nanoparticles

Summary: The efficient formaldehyde gas sensor system based on Ni-doped SnO2 nanoparticles and a back-end circuit shows improved stability, excellent selectivity, and high response compared to traditional devices, with a detection limit as low as 90 ppb. Bimetal carbonaceous templates for multi-shelled NiCo2O4 hollow sphere with enhanced xylene detection

Summary: In this study, NiCo2O4 double-shelled hollow spheres (DHSs) with porous surfaces were successfully synthesized using a self-templating strategy, with a large specific surface area of up to 93.5 m² g⁻¹, outstanding gas permeability, and more reactive sites. The sensitivity and response time of NiCo2O4 DHSs to 100 ppm xylene at the optimal working temperature of 240 degrees C were 23.3 and 15.4 s, respectively.
