Thresholds learning of three-way decisions in pairwise crime linkage

Yusheng Li et al.

Summary: Crime linkage is a challenging task with significant importance in maintaining social security. This paper proposes a method for automatically learning thresholds of three-way decisions without the need for explicit loss functions. Multiple traditional classification algorithms are employed to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the results show a reduction in classification errors.

Fuzzy portfolio selection based on three-way decision and cumulative prospect theory

Xianhe Wang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a fuzzy portfolio selection model based on three-way decision and cumulative prospect theory, which mitigates the two main shortcomings in existing studies by allocating prospect values in the action set and constructing a tri-partition of candidate securities according to three-way decision theory. Experimental results demonstrate that this approach increases investment return and reduces investor risk.

A three-way multi-attribute decision making method based on regret theory and its application to medical data in fuzzy environments

Jinxing Zhu et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new three-way multi-attribute decision making method based on regret theory (3W-MADM-R) for making decisions using heart disease data in fuzzy environments. The method involves the use of relative outcome functions, estimation of conditional probabilities, and three-way decision rules to address clustering and ranking issues. By comparing with other methods, the feasibility, stability, and superiority of the 3W-MADM-R method are demonstrated in heart disease data analysis.

A cumulative prospect theory explanation of gamblers cashing-out

Andrew Grant et al.

Summary: Cash-out products offered by bookmakers allow bettors to liquidate existing bets for a small fee before game end. Previous research has found that bettors with preferences consistent with cumulative prospect theory (CPT) are likely to prefer cashing out likely winning bets, due to diminishing sensitivity or marginal utility. Probability weighting and loss aversion further exacerbate any preference for early liquidation of bets.
