Toward 40GHz excitation of diamond-based HBAR

Boris P. Sorokin et al.

Summary: Researchers have successfully excited longitudinal bulk acoustic waves at frequencies up to 40GHz in a diamond-based High overtone Bulk Acoustic Resonator (HBAR) using an aluminum-scandium nitride film as an effective piezoelectric transducer. They also studied peculiarities of the HBAR's frequency response and acoustic attenuation in diamond.

Ultrasound elasticity of diamond at gigapascal pressures

Qingyang Hu et al.

Summary: Diamond, known as the hardest material in nature, exhibits exceptional properties due to its elasticity, including outstanding hardness, shear strength, and incompressibility. The study presented accurate elasticity measurements of diamond powder, revealing that diamond's elastic properties may not be fully described by traditional models.
