Nonlinear Optical Properties of Ag Nanoplates Plasmon Resonance and Applications in Ultrafast Photonics

Bo Fu et al.

Summary: Metal nanomaterials, particularly Ag nanoplates, have been utilized as saturable absorber candidates in Yb-doped all-fiber lasers, demonstrating dual-wavelength synchronous mode-locking. The nonlinear optical properties of AgNPTs-based SA and the potential applications for stable and low-cost pulsed laser sources have been highlighted in this study. Achieving 293-ps pulse trains with a repetition rate of 11.43 MHz at a pump power of 350 mW indicates the promising prospects of solution-processed AgNPTs in ultrafast photonics.

Wavelength-switchable 9.5 GHz graphene mode-locked waveguide laser

Mariya Ponarina et al.

Summary: This study develops a multi-wavelength compact ultrafast laser based on a single-mode waveguide inscribed in Nd:YAG and graphene saturable absorber, allowing for single-, dual- and multi-wavelength mode-locking. By accurately controlling intracavity losses, stable CW passive mode-locking and dual-wavelength mode-locking at 1061 and 1064 nm with a pulse repetition rate of 9.5 GHz are achieved.
