Tunability of structural, optical, and electrical properties of pristine MnSe thin film by gradually changing temperature for optoelectronic applications

Ammar Qasem et al.

Summary: The pristine manganese selenide (MnSe) thin film was successfully prepared using the vacuum evaporation approach as the initial step, and the tunability of its structural, optical, and electrical characteristics was evaluated through annealing at different temperatures. The annealed films were found to be crystalline, in contrast to the amorphous pristine film. The optical study extracted two energies in Tauc and Urbach regions and explained them using the concept of atomic orbital splitting. The electrical properties were determined using capacitance and conductance pathways.

A. S. Farid et al.

Summary: In this study, Se80Te15Ge5 thin films were deposited using an evaporation process. The crystalline state of the annealed films was observed to change from amorphous below 373 K to polycrystalline above 423 K, based on X-ray diffraction measurements. The optical properties of these films at different annealing temperatures were calculated and analyzed, including the refractive index, nonlinear refractive index, and absorbance coefficient.

Novel and promising material (CuInSn3S8) for photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications

M. S. El-Bana et al.

Summary: Novel thin films of CuInSn3S8 have been synthesized and characterized in this study. The films exhibit a uniform and homogeneous surface, polycrystalline monoclinic structure, and compact network topology. They also possess a wide energy gap, high infrared reflectance, and suitable optical transmittance in the visible spectrum. Additionally, the films show potential as n-type semiconductors and exhibit high optical conductivity and nonlinear optical properties. These findings indicate the promising applications of CuInSn3S8 in photovoltaics and optoelectronics.

Development of dip-coated Cu2ZnSnS4 absorber material without sulphurisation

Ahmed Ziti et al.

Summary: In this study, Cu2ZnSnS4 absorber material was synthesized by the sol-gel method deposited on glass substrates using dip-coating technique. The effects of dip-coating cycle and annealing temperature on structural, morphological compositional, optical and electrical properties were investigated. The films exhibited kesterite CZTS with preferential orientation along (112) plane, with the pure CZTS phase formed at high annealing temperature and low dip-coating cycles. The optical band gap decreased with increasing dip-coating cycles and increased with higher annealing temperatures, while the electrical sheet resistance varied inversely with these parameters.
